Dark matter weaponry is outlawed by the Assembly charter, since the effects are not fully understood, nor fully controllable. This has not prevented occasional dabbling in the technology.
Officially, no such technology exists. There is one documented use of weaponized dark matter, occurring during the Battle of Bedingrade in 83 ATA, when the Terrans, having lured the Stalker fleet into a trap, detonated nuclear warheads in the dark matter pockets that infest the system. The Stalker fleet was obliterated.
The Assembly sanctioned the Terrans heavily, but the battle played a decisive role in ending the ongoing conflict. Research into dark matter weapons tech is proscribed by every civilisation that is signatory to the Assembly charter.
