FTL deployment pods are military technology utilised primarily by the Changeling military.
Origin
Since the Changeling navy is ill-suited to large-scale confrontation, and changeling tactical doctrine places an emphasis on stealth and sabotage, FTL pods are the answer to the question, "How can we deploy infiltration units on target planets without engaging in pitched battles?" Extensively equipped with jamming technology and heat sinks, the pods are difficult to detect with conventional sensor systems. They can also be deployed in swarms to facilitate larger invasions, their small size making them hard for ground-based defence installations to target effectively.
