The guardians are the oldest of all the known races, having first travelled beyond their home star system, Aluxi, sometime prior to 84,000 BTA.
Biology
Comparatively little is known of guardian biology. Those individuals who choose to interact with the the other races are invariably fully armoured, making it difficult to discern even facial features. Tall and heavily built, they are capable of withstanding severe physical trauma and have a very high pain threshhold. They appear to be immune to most viruses and other transmitted diseases, and have remarkable longevity.
Their population is almost vanishingly small in relation to the other races and has been in steady decline for thousands of years. The most recent estimates assume around 100,000 individuals remain.
