Origin
Wee Gamma's star is a pulsar, emitting high levels of electromagnetic radiation. The smallest and noisiest star to be mapped during an Assembly-funded deep-space surveying expedition, the affectionate nickname "Wee Gamma" as bestowed by the team leader (a terran of Celtic ancestry) stuck with the team, and passed into astrographic immortality.
